HOD Public Health
Col Hamidu Ibrahim is the Deputy Director Administration and General Services and the HOD Public Health of Army Command and NAOWA Hospital, Abuja (ACNHA). He is a seasoned senior officer of Nigeria Army Medical Corps (NAMC), with 35years of experience as an administrator in the Environmental Health profession.
Col Hamidu Ibrahim as the Deputy Director General Services, coordinates the logistics issues and general maintenance in the Hospital. As the HOD, Public Health oversees and manage all public health activities and disease preventive measures in the hospital.
In civil qualifications, he bags a Master’s degree in Public Health from Ladipo Akintola University, Osogbo, Osun State. He also had Master’s degree in Environmental Health from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State. Had his BSc in environmental Health obtained from EPS University LA CITE, Cotonou, Benin Republic. HND Environmental Health from School of Health Technology Kaduna. He attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he obtained a Diploma in Computer Education and also had his Health Science Tutor Postgraduate course in the University of Ibadan.
As Military personnel, he had the following: Senior Staff course (psc) – Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji. Senior Executive Management Course, Junior Staff Course`A` – Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji. Amphibious Staff Operation Course and also the Young Officers Course (Medical).
Col H Ibrahim in his professional courses’ achievements, has attended twenty-one (21) seminar courses in Nigeria, fifteen (15) United Nation courses in South-Sudan, Uganda, etc. Military Preventive Medicine on Desert Operations in Tunisia and the protection of civilians/children in Uganda.
Col H Ibrahim has at various time held command positions as Chief Instructor and HOD, Nigeria Army School of Medical Sciences (NASMS). Chief Planning Officer, United Nation Interim Security Forces in Abyei, Sudan. Deputy Director, Public Health, HQ NAMC. Registrar, Nigeria Army School of Medical Sciences (NASMS). Military Observer, United Nation Mission, Sudan amongst others and currently the Deputy Director General Services and HOD Public Health in the Army Command and NAOWA Hospital, Abuja.
