Major General A. Kigbu (retired) is a graduate of the University of Jos, Jos, where he obtained his basic medical degree (MB;BCH) in 1988. He had his medical specialist training/residency in Paediatrics at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) in the Faculty of Paediatrics with sub specialization in Neonatology.
He Commanded and administered many notable military hospitals whilst in military service viz; 1 Division Medical Services and Hospital, Nigerian Army, Kaduna; Military Hospital Lagos, Ikoyi, and 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna which is the premier Military medical facility in the Nigerian military.
Maj Gen A, Kigbu has been involved in various international military missions in a medical capacity viz; United Nations Operation in Somalia II, Mogadishu, Somalia; ECOWAS Monitoring Group in Liberia/Sierra Leone and as Commander Nigerian Level II Hospital, Timbuktu with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). As an officer in the Nigerian Army, he rose to the rank of Major General before his voluntary retirement in March 2019.
Dr Kigbu is a highly trained, team oriented and compassionate Paediatrician who seeks continuous innovation and excellence in his practice. He is member of the Paediatric Association of Nigeria (PAN).
